Throughout my life, I would say I’ve spent a great deal of time feeling LOST: unsure, scared, sad, nervous, lonely. I have been taking antidepressants since I was a teenager with bouts of depression, low self-esteem, disordered eating, social anxiety. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to find “happiness,” a place where I feel that I fit in. A few years ago I came across a quote that I’ve come to see as a very important instruction for life, “Always find time for the things that make you happy to be alive.” These words simplified things for me.
